"Side lever cocking action"

Weihrauch (pronounced "veer-rork") are renown gun makers worldwide. Their German Engineering Pedigree is a mark of quality that goes without any extra explanations, like Volkswagen ("Folks-vagen"). The German rifle makers have always been popular with British air gun shooters and even more so for their HW90 collaboration with Gas Ram makers Theoben. This rifle looks set to take pride of place in many a shooter's gun safe.

"This magazine is a 14 shot. That is virtually enough for one hunting trip..."

The HW100 is the first precharged pneumatic air rifle from Weihrauch. It also features a rotational magazine, or ammo-wheel. What's so unusual about that? I hear you ask. This magazine is a 14 shot. That is virtually enough for one hunting trip, if you just want to get a bag and go home. If you want to stay out all day, it means that you can and do not have to worry about refilling the Mag' so often.

With an air reservoir capable of over 40full power shots320m/sec (30 ft/lbs) and 20 for 250m/sec12ft/lbs.

The HW100 comes in calibre .22 or .177, so take your pick for hunting or target work.

Another useful feature of the HW100 is the brightly coloured and easily readable air guage. I am always slightly concerned though when these are mounted under the barrel, as I am sure that someone will be tempted to point a loaded gun at themselves to read the guage! Of course, the guage should only be read when you have fired the last shot and emptied the gun's barrel and extracted the magazine as well. But you do, don't you! If you are using this fine piece for hunting then the bright air guage face will definately attract the attention of the quarry, especially sharp eyed Magpies or Rooks. Make a simple cover up, or use some old army scrim and a couple of elastic bands or ties. Thsi does the job and protects your fine gun from scratches.

The practical lines of the HW100 reflect years of research and development.

A removable cylinder means that you could carry a spare... presuming that (a) you can afford it and (b) they're available.

The Stock is ofcourse every bit as important as the rest of the gun. You can have the finest gun mechanism in the world but unless the stock is well balanced, comfortable and makes the gun "float on aim", then your shooting will be less good. The HW100's superb Walnut Stock is ambidextrous, so whether you are left or right handed you can enjoy shooting this gun. I often find, when stalking a hedgrow to my right side, that the gun is uncomfortable to use left-handed. This ambidexterous stock design solves that problem, so no more need to walk backwards or sideways to make your gun point in the right direction!

How much and where?
This is a desirable rifle. One which I am sure that many of you will want to add to your collection, but not just to look good, this is a practical hunting tool and the .177 model doubles as a good target rifle.
